I have just gotten home and as I eat dinner, I am scrolling down my Flist in LJ and have come accross a post someone made about a post in IMDB about gilrs chasing Gale down and about all the flash photography being done when Gale was doing the Q/A. BAD BAD BEHAVIOR GUYS ON BOTH COUNTS!!!!
But let me just address the Flash photography issue from a filmmaker professional point of view. I have been up on the stage in the theater to do 3 Q/A's before. 2 were for my films in the Atlanta Film Festival and the other time was to do the second Q/A for Gale's movie The Unseen at the Atlanta Film Festival after Lisa F. had returned to NY and they decided to show The Unssen again and do a second Q/A. Lisa emailed me and asked me to do it.
Now here is the point. When you are watching a film in the theater, the lights are dimmed. When you are doing a Q/A usually not only are the theater lights on you but also the front stream lights at the front of the stage and they are directly on you. You are already blinded by all this light and very very hot from all the heat coming off the lights, if you are up on the stage for any length of time.
So between the stream lights, the main lighting and the heat of the lights, I am sure Gale was already hot and blinded before anyone started adding to this with all the flash photography. I know I have been there. So please do not add to the discomfort of an actor by doing this, Gale or any actor you see at a theater Q/A.
To top it off, most theaters have a strict NO PHOTOGRAGHY ALLOWED policy so come on guys. chill on the flashing photos.
Okay I have said my thoughts on this.
